The Residential Tenancies Amendment Bill (No 2) (Bill) provides yet further amendments to the Residential Tenancies Act 1986 (RTA). The Bill seeks to address a number of current issues, namely: liability for damage to rental premises caused by a tenant; methamphetamine contamination in rental premises and tenancies over rental premises that are unlawful for residential use.
