Born and raised on Auckland’s North Shore and following a 10 year stint in Australia, Michelle and family finally returned to New Zealand in 2017 after making a decision to settle in the sunny Bay of Plenty. A decision they have not regretted.
Michelle’s current practice areas are predominantly commercial and property where she assists Grant Harris with his busy practice. Michelle also has a keen interest in sports and as a result is developing a practice with a focus on sports law which includes advice on governance, management and dispute resolution for sports organisations, athletes, participants and organisers.
Outside of work, Michelle is kept busy with two children who are extremely active in various sports, so most of her spare time is spent at the local surf club, rugby fields, hockey turf and touch fields (though she wouldn’t have it any other way!). In fact one of the things she most likes about living in the Bay is the access to a wide variety of sports on offer and proximity to excellent facilities.
If you need assistance with anything property, company or commercial related, or if you have a sporting issue, then get in touch with Michelle at Harris Tate.
Michelle is also a current member of the Law Society’s Property Law Section, a Panel Member of the New Zealand Law Society Property Law Reform panel, a committee member of the Tauranga Property Investors Association and a member of the Sport Law Association (ANZSLA) - prior to being admitted in the High Court of New Zealand, Michelle was admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia).
