In 1995 Alan partnered with Ross Harris to form Harris Tate Lawyers. Although retired Alan manages a busy Notary service from Harris Tate Lawyers for those requiring authentication of their signatures or documents. Alan previously had involvement in a number of local Maori land issues and continues to offer his expertise on a number of boards associated with local Maori Land development.

A keen beekeeper Alan tends to hives around the district including onsite here at Harris Tate. In his ‘spare’ time Alan enjoys tramping and exploring other parts of the natural world.
