Kurarauringa joins us from Sport Bay of Plenty where she served as a youth engagement advisor for 4 years, whilst completing a diploma in business and studying towards her law degree. This role allowed Kurarauringa to encourage rangatahi to be their best version of themselves through tutoring, mentoring and facilitating programmes that developed self-awareness, resilience and life skills. Kurarauringa believes the growth achieved from this opportunity has been invaluable in developing her empathetic and resolute character.
Kurarauringa is a board member for Youth Law Aotearoa; she chaired the Tauranga City Council Youth Advisory Group in 2020; she was a Tuia representative for Tauranga Moana in 2020 and also served on the Sport Bay of Plenty Maori Advisory group until 2021.
Her competitive streak is embodied by her sporting accomplishments as a 3rd year representative for the Bay of Plenty Women’s Volcanix Rugby Team. She further demonstrates a high-performance attitude by participating in the BOP Rugby Athlete Development Programme.
Kurarauringa has a deep gratitude for her life and those who have invested heavily into it (especially her mum) and she now hopes to further fulfil her purpose by serving her community in the legal space.
