A proud decorative feature in the rear courtyard is a commissioned "Pouwhenua" showing a link to the land of its occupiers through time. At the base is a figure of Archdeacon Brown (after whom the street is named); on his shoulders, a figure representing the present legal occupiers; and at the top is the Maori figure KoiKoi (baptized by Archdeacon Brown as "Paraone") representing local tangata whenua. |
