Alan Tate

Born in Christchurch, Alan is married to Dianna and has two daughters. He graduated with an LLB (Hons) degree from the University of Canterbury in 1970.

His legal career began with positions in the Maori Land Court and Maori Trust Office before joining a legal practice in Christchurch and later in Hamilton.

Alan and his family moved to Tauranga in 1981. He established a kiwifruit orchard management business which he operated until 1989 when he returned to the law.  He is also a Notary Public.

Alan's areas of expertise include:

  • Commercial and Residential Property Transaction
  • Advising the Elderly
  • Asset Protection and Advisory work for small to medium business with an emphasis on the horticultural industry. 
  • A number of local iwi and Maori interest groups count among Alan's clients.
